Webelos Summer Camp--July 19-21

Sign up for summer camp for all Webelos is happening now.  The camp will take place July 19-21 at Stearns Scout Camp near Annandale.  It is a three night stay with lots of fun to be had.  The cost for each scout is $107, and the pack will pay for the parent.  A 1:1 ratio is recommended, so parents please plan on attending with your child.  Tim needs to know who is attending (the names of both the scout and the adult).  He is also collecting the money, which can be made out to the pack and dropped off at his house.  It should be a lot of fun, so please consider attending!  Go campers!!

March Pack Meeting--Mar. 20th

Don't forget!  We have a pack meeting coming up the Tuesday after Spring Break, March 20th at 6:30 in the church.  The boys will get any achievements they have earned as well as inform us about their recent activities.  Parents, the season is soon done which means we'll talk about summer opportunities for the boys.  Please attend to find out more.

Spring Overnight Event--March 30th

A new opportunity is being offered to all cub scouts in Pack 246.  We will be going to a lock-in at Base Camp in Fort Snelling on Friday, March 30.  It begins at 8:00pm and last until 8:00am the next morning.  The cost is $30 for the scout, and the pack will cover the cost of the parent.  The boys will be able to do some rock climbing, bouldering, archery, games, and crafts.  Each scout will also receive a Base Camp t-shirt that they will tie dye at the camp.  This event is for all Cub Scouts ages 5-11.  It should be a blast!  More will be shared at our Blue and Gold Banquet.

Blue and Gold Banquet--Feb. 17

Pack 246 will be holding their annual Blue and Gold Banquet on Friday, February 17 at 6:00pm at the church.  This is a ceremony honoring the Webelos 2 scouts who achieve their Arrow of Light Award.  This is the final step to becoming a Boy Scout. 

Each den is responsible for bringing the following (enough for 12 people) for the potluck:  Tigers-beverages, Wolves-salad/side, Bears-dessert, Webelos 1-main dish, Webelos 2-beverages.

Please r.s.v.p. to Brenda Sandquist by 2-13-12 if you plan on attending. 

Also, if you plan on being in Cub Scouts next year, be ready to sign up for the next year of scouts.  It is $15 to recharter, so bring your checkbook.  You will not have to fill out any new paperwork!  :)

Pinewood Derby Feb. 4, 2012

Saturday's Pinewood Derby race for the cub scouts of Pack 246 was a huge success!  Thank you to those who helped set up the track, sit through time trials, run the clock, organize the food and venue, and volunteer on race day.  So many people were involved, and we can't thank you enough.  The Sportsmanship award will be presented at our Blue and Gold Banquet on Friday, Feb. 17th.  We hope to see you there!

January Pack Meeting, Jan. 17

At our January Pack meeting we discussed the upcoming Wreath Rewards Day to the Waterpark of America.  Those going will meet at the waterpark on Saturday, Jan. 21st.  The Pinewood Derby is also coming up soon, so keep working on those cars.  Remember, there are many fun rewards, not just for the fastest car.  The Sportsmanship Award is the most honored award of the event.  Let's make sure kids and parents alike participate with a positive attitude.  It should be loads of fun for all!  The Blue and Gold Banquet is set for Friday, Feb. 17th.  Everyone is encouraged to attend.  It's a banquet honoring the transition from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts for the second year Webelos.  More details will be coming soon.

Polar Cubs--January 14, 15

Cub Scout Pack 246 enjoyed  many outdoor adventures up at Stearns Scout Camp.  Despite a lack of snow the boys were able to have fun in the great outdoors.  Thank you for all who attended and helped organize this event for the scouts.

December Pack Meeting

Webelos Marriott Tour

The Webelos were invited to spend the day at the Marriott in the cities.  They were given a tour of the hotel and a behind the scenes look at how the hotel functions.  They were even allowed to go up on the roof and see the Minneapolis skyline in the distance.  The hotel chef had them create delicious chocolate covered strawberries that they could eat.  All this fun ended with a dip in the pool.  What a great adventure!  Thank you to the staff at the Marriott and to Brad for setting it all up for the scouts.

Webelos Experience--Oct. 1-2, 2011

The Webelos went to Stearns Camp for an overnight experience with 3,000 other scouts.  It was beautiful weather and the scouts learned a lot about the history of scouting as well as played games and had fun.  We stayed in tents and cooked our own food.  Thank you to all for making the event a huge success.  Here are a few pictures from camp.

Pack Meeting Sep. 20, 2011

Our first pack meeting for the 2011-2012 school year is on Tuesday, September 20th at 6:30pm.  We will meet at Christ the King Lutheran Church in the Mission Hall.  Please wear your uniform.  We will be handing out information about our Christmas Wreath fundraiser along with important scouting information.  Hope to see you there!

Webelos Adventure Days 2011

We had a great time at Webelos Adventure Days on June 23-24.  Thank you to all the boys and parents who participated.  Here are some pictures of the boys having fun.

August 18 Family Picnic

Our Family Picnic is planned for August 18th at the Elks Park in Hutchinson. We will be grilling hamburgers, beans, chips and desert. Please bring you own beverage. After we eat we will be paying admission for one adult to get into the McLeod Co. Fair. The scouts will get in for free. Please R.S.V.P no later than August 12th so we can plan for the right number of people.

July 8-10 Family Camp

July 8-10 is Family Camp at the Baylor Regional Park and observatory near Norwood.

Pack Meeting - Nov. 16

The November pack meeting will be held on Nov. 16 at 6:30pm at Christ the King.

Please bring a non-perishable food item for the food shelf.

Fall Highway Cleanup

Each fall and spring Pack 246 cleans a section of Highway 15 just north of Hutchinson. This is community service and often helps fulfill requirements in the boy's books.

The next cleanup is Saturday, October 16. Meet at Christ the King parking lot at 9am. Cleanup is expected to take about 1 1/2 hours. After we are done, we'll likely meet at McDonald's for an treat.
